Let's face it, as we enter 2020, things just aren't as personal as they used to be. Phone calls are becoming a hassell, texts are looking like random letters and numbers that aren't just "LOL" anymore, and it's like pulling teeth to spend time with someone without a piece of technology present. It's really crazy. Think about it, back when phones were just an accessory and not an absolute necessity, people actually had face to face, hand written or even over the phone conversations. Where are the years taking us? It's actually kind of scary to think about.
So why am I rambling on about phones, texts and talking to people? I'm thinking a lot about Valentine's day. A day not only for couple's but to show appreciation for those you love. How do we show appreciation for loved ones when we can barely pick up the phone to call people?
Here's the top 5 things that most people would want for Valentine's Day!
- YOU/YOUR TIME!
- What better way to show someone how much you care than by putting all technology aside and spending time together. Whether it's a nice dinner, a quiet date at home or going for a walk, there's tons of ways to show your appreciation. - Head to a Restaurant.
- If I was going to take my husband out for Valentine's Day, we would be heading to HIS favorite restaurant. We always go to my favorite all the time so a nice switch up would be to go out to a place just for him. (Maybe even a local brewery or distillery) - Flowers
- Face it, you either love them or you hate them for Valentine's Day. I am a huge lover of flowers but what kills me is when my husband spends a huge amount on roses (Like $40 for 2 dozen) and they die within 2 weeks. I'd honestly rather him wait a few months and plant me a beautiful flower garden instead. At least they last longer than flowers in a vase. Maybe instead of flowers in a vase, do candy in a vase? What woman is going to deny a Reese's? If your thinking of giving candy, why not even try dipping your own strawberries? It's SUPER easy. - Soap.
-Maybe they don't ask for this one by name BUT I recently found a men's soap subscription that I love and my husband hasn't stopped raving about. Seriously, he doesn't really ever get excited about much but this, THIS he got excited about. His favorite scents are Crisp Ale and Pine Tar. They are both such clean smells and my husband says he feels really clean after his shower. This is a must on my list and a subscription that I can get behind.
5. A Stroll Down Memory Lane
-How nice would it be to head back to where you met? My husband and I first met at a mall in Exton, PA. I recently saw such a cute idea that prints out the constellations the day/time you met your partner. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever! My husband probably wouldn't appreciate it to much but I know there has to be quite a few people out there with significant others who would treasure this idea!
