Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope everyone is celebrating today even though the world is crazy at the moment.
How is everyone celebrating St. Patrick's Day? Yes, I said "celebrating". When I first met my husband, he laughed at me about how I celebrated every. single. holiday. Let me tell you how this all began. You see, my mom worked full time and would constantly talk up holidays (mostly because they were the times we could spend the most time together). She loved holiday. Who am I kidding, she still celebrates every single holiday. Some may say our family is over the top when it comes to celebrating but ehhhh, it is how we are. Always looking for something positive to look forward to!
How did we celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Every year, the leprechaun would visit our house! He was a tricky little thing who loved to tear apart my bedroom (which got super annoying as I became a teen) and dye our milk green. His main goal of coming to our house was to leave a trail to his pot of gold, usually my favorite candy and a fun note. It may sound cheesy but this was something I looked froward to every year.
As I got older and had children of my own, I started doing this same things for my children. While, they aren't quite fond of the green milk, they love the pot of gold and even the mess! Of course, they love the mess. I always joke that they are each a tornado of their own that doesn't come with a warning.
Every year, we do a cute breakfast or snack and we hunt for the gold. I'm so thankful my mom is "over the top" when it comes to Holidays! We have a blast in our house!
