Get Out Of The House: A Weekly Series of What To Do Outside!

Backyard Picnic

With parks closed and the kids out of school, everyone is looking for lunch ideas. Atleast I am. Sometimes we need to just change the schedule/routine that we have stuck to for a few days and think of something outside the box for lunch! Sunday was one of those days for me. I knew the boys needed a change for lunch so today, we took lunch...OUTSIDE! The boys were completely surprised when I packed up our lunches, grabbed a blanket and got them ready to head out the door. The weather was far to beautiful to eat inside like normal!

What did we pack? Here's my super simple picnic for my 3 sons.

  • PB&J Sandwiches
  • A bunch of clementines
  • Juice Boxes
  • Apple Sauce
  • Dragon Pudding (A new favorite in our house because of it's bright colors)
  • Chips

Yeah, I'm 100% an over packer. In my defense, my kids will want one thing but then 5 minutes later change their mind. It's how they work so over packing is how I roll. My boys had a great time, ate their lunches and we even played games and searched around for things in the yard. They love bird watching and cloud watching.
