As a lover of all things pastry, I always have something baking in my kitchen. After many semesters in culinary school for baking and pastry arts, I have found myself a niche that I absolutely love. The only downside with baking is that someone needs to eat it all. From experience, that can't be me! Another minor set back that I have with baking is that the Summer heat can be brutal and turning on an oven just isn't always ideal. Cold desserts are an easy go to in our house.
Lately, my son's favorite dessert has been a root-beer float. Who can blame him? Bubbly, sweet and that foam that coats that top of the glass is to die for! However, like many things in the eyes of a 6 year old, the root-beer float got kind of old fast. So we re-imagined...
So far, our go to float has been a Rainbow Sherbet float made with strawberry soda. I kid you not, it was TASTY and refreshing. Definitely needed on a hot Summer day. Aside from that, there are so many options.
Here are a few favs:
Lemonade Soda with Sherbet
Coke with Vanilla Ice Cream
Strawberry Soda with Vanilla Ice Cream
Orange Soda with Vanilla Ice cream
Vanilla Cream soda with chocolate ice cream
See what I mean? The possibilites are endless! Happy Dessert Everyone!
