When I was younger, my mom was constantly sending me notes in my school lunches. Whether it was my first day of Kindergarten or the first day of high school, there was always a note to look forward to. Looking back now, it was seriously the highlight of my day. Being a mom of 3, I have started sending notes in lunch boxes since the first day of pre-school. Just a cute little "Reach for the Stars" or "Good Luck On Your Spelling Test" can make their day.
Teaching my kids to help me pack their lunches and keep it balanced has been on my mind a lot lately with our return to school quickly approaching. We have such a hectic schedule of Ice Hockey, Ice lessons, normal appointments, and more that the kids helping us pick their lunches could save me so much extra time!
To teach our boys how to craft a balanced lunch, we went to Target. At Target, we were able to grab NABISCO Multipack Snacks, Danimals Yogurt, and Horizon Organic Milk Boxes. When paired with the boys favorite veggie - cucumber, and some bright green grapes, we were all set to begin our lunchtime journey with our balanced menu.
