At Manoa Nursery School, we have created a warm, safe, and welcoming environment to nurture your child’s growth and love of learning. We view children as a gift from God and want them to know that they are special and loved by Him.
Curriculum
Our biblically based curriculum introduces students to Jesus so they can understand who He is and how they can have a relationship with Him. We believe play to be the serious work of children. Therefore, we have carefully designed our curriculum to offer hands-on, play-based learning opportunities that will encourage children to engage in meaningful experiences, gain important skills, and build confidence for their future learning endeavors.
Social-emotional education is an integral part of our program at Manoa Nursery School. Through our social-emotional curriculum, children develop a courteous and respectful attitude toward others and learn valuable lessons about sharing, kindness, and what it means to be a good friend.
Our Kindergarten Readiness classes implement the Fundations® curriculum to encourage students’ emerging understanding of the alphabet, phonemic awareness, and letter formation. For all ages and stages of development, our teachers carefully curate lessons and activities to introduce early literacy and math skills to their students.
Each day at Manoa Nursery School includes fun experiences such as listening to Bible stories, making crafts, singing, participating in learning centers, enjoying snacks, and engaging in both indoor and outdoor free play.
Beyond the Classroom
Manoa Nursery School offers numerous opportunities for fun and learning beyond the classroom:
Field Trips to Highland Orchards and Tyler Arboretum provide time for building community among our school families while learning about God’s creation.
A performance by Glorify Performing Arts exposes the children to the art of ballet and allows the children to engage with and connect their faith to the arts.
The chick hatching program beautifully illustrates the new life we can have in Jesus. Through hands-on, experiential learning, children develop an understanding of the life cycle of chickens from egg to chick: they learn important scientific skills such as making observations and predications as well as social emotional skills like how to nurture, care for, and respect animals.
Special events such as Thanksgiving and Christmas programs, Mothers’ Tea, and Breakfast with Buddies invite family members to join us for special celebrations.
Our extended-day program provides opportunities for children ages 3– 5 years to explore art, music, and science through hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons.
